This summer we became convinced that climate change is not an empty phrase and not an invention of eco-activists, but a reality that is now with us. For example, instead of a moderately hot summer, real heat came to Northern Europe. Climate change and the pandemic have forced us to reconsider our attitude towards fashion. How to choose things so that they not only last more than one year, but also do not go out of fashion in the next season? Basic, sustainable, comfortable, good quality garments are the staple of a wardrobe in 2021.
1. Choose flax
The material, which is currently experiencing a peak in popularity, is the ideal solution for the summer. It is not only comfortable, natural, practical and environmentally friendly, but also has a higher thermal conductivity than cotton, so that heat is more easily tolerated in it. Choose things with a denser texture, they wrinkle less. And modern technologies allow flax to be dyed not only in natural, but also in the brightest colors. Orange, fuchsia, and bright green are the hottest shades of this season and will always look fresh in summer. For lovers of the classics, gray, black, white and beige are suitable. What to take: a basic item – a white linen shirt (it will not lose its relevance for many years to come), a linen pantsuit or a suit with shorts (ideal for an office in hot weather)
2. Give preference to natural fabrics
What else, besides flax, can and should be bought for the summer? Crochet knitted items (openwork tops and cardigans, knitted sundresses are an excellent solution for a hot summer). Denim – perhaps it will never go out of fashion (wide jeans, shirts, overalls, shorts and skirts are appropriate everywhere and can be easily combined with other wardrobe items). Linen and fabrics that contain it (for example, a mixture of linen and cotton or linen and viscose). These fabrics wrinkle less. Rami is a Chinese nettle fabric, a real discovery – a thin fabric that is not electrified and, moreover, is environmentally friendly. Cotton: shirts, trousers, light floral dresses or white summer dresses. Silk – dresses, overalls, silk trousers and suits. What to take: Choose classic cuts and silhouettes – they will never let you down. Look in the summer collection FiNN FLARE.
3. Safari style
When Yves Saint Laurent first presented a safari-inspired collection in 1966, no one could have imagined that clothing inspired by the images of hunters and soldiers would not go out of fashion for decades. Now it is a summer fashion classic. 70s, 80s, 90s – no decade has been without dresses or suits in this style. Natural colors – sand, olive, beige, brown. Uniform details (hard shoulders, belts, iron buttons and accessories). Only natural fabrics. Convenience and practicality. These are all hallmarks of the safari style. Now it is no longer the uniform of the colonialists, but of modern travelers and influencers, and the ideal uniform for the hot stone jungle. What to get: Button-down dresses, cargo pants, sleeveless jackets and bermuda shorts.
4. Pants turn …
In the summer of 2021, elongated shorts are the main trend of the season. It’s already hot in trousers, but straight or wide Bermuda shorts are just right. Perhaps the most practical clothes for the summer, which also looks great with jackets, so that strict guardians of the office dress code will not find fault with them now. Outside the office, you can wear it with a hoodie, sweatshirt, T-shirt, shirt and top. What to take: wide knee-length or slightly taller shorts in beige, black or white, made of linen or cotton.
5. Not only white
Clothes of a different color may be more comfortable for the heat than light-colored items. It’s all about the composition of the fabric and the cut. Loose linen shirts or long dresses and sundresses are a great alternative to white clothes, and they will also be relevant for more than one season. Delicate pastel or luscious summer colors will cheer you up and highlight your tan. What to take: a turquoise or lemon dress, a blue trouser suit (blue suits both brunettes and blondes), a pink jacket.
