Tricks to keep you from burnout at work
Even your favorite job is a source of stress. But we do not always have time for rehabilitation after busy working days: an hour’s yoga class, an evening at the spa, and even more so a few days in a sanatorium are an unaffordable luxury for many of us. But there are some proven ways to relieve stress, refresh your mind, and calm down. And practically without getting up from the workplace!
Trick your nerves
“When we’re under stress, the stomach muscles contract, creating tension throughout the body,” says Irina Kushnir, an aromatherapy and health expert. If you have a nervous job, try replacing regular tea and coffee with herbal teas. Chamomile and ginger calm the digestive system and dampen raging emotions. And the essence of lavender helps to curb naughty nerves.
Respiratory gymnast Brian Hessy recommends doing simple yet powerful exercises. Take a few slow, deep breaths through your nose, and exhale through your mouth. Do the same, but with additional actions: sequentially grab your chest with your hands, then fold your arms over your chest, lowering your elbows to your stomach. This exercise will be most effective if you exhale with sound – but it is better that at this moment there are no curious colleagues next to you.

Use the right flavors
When preparing for important and difficult negotiations, it is not superfluous to apply a couple of drops of sandalwood oil to the clothes in which you plan to come to the meeting (or apply it to your skin). Aromatherapy expert Robert Tisserand explains that certain scents help you calm down.
Take a time out
It’s no secret that stress builds up pretty quickly – and you should also get rid of it immediately. Make it a rule to give yourself a little break every hour. Chat for a couple of minutes with a colleague on non-work topics, walk around the floors. This activity will allow you to relax and get to work with fresh thoughts.
Learn to say no
Psychologist and author of Power and Wisdom: The New Way of a Woman, Priscilla Marotta, says: “Women often have problems with personal boundaries. The reason lies in the fact that we really do not like to disappoint people whose opinion is important to us, and we always try to appear better. ” Before agreeing to the next important task, properly weigh the pros and cons.
Stretch at the desk
We spend most of our work time sitting at a table in front of a computer screen – that is, we strain the muscles of the neck and back. The situation can be corrected by regularly kneading the affected body parts. Make circular movements with your shoulders (three times back and forth). Convenience is that this simple “gymnastics” can be performed without getting up from the workplace.
Mix essential oils with a moisturizing cream
Apply a moisturizer to your face and body in the morning and add a couple of drops of essential oil to it. Sage oil has a relaxing effect on the facial muscles, lavender and bergamot help balance emotions (and at the same time have a slight lifting effect), and ylang-ylang has a beneficial effect on the nervous system.
